The House - The Hollies

This website is designed to give you a feel for the property and the business so that if you choose to visit it gives you some idea of what to expect, although to show the true beauty of this garden and the surrounding area is almost impossible, you need to see it, and to feel it.

If you have any questions, please do ring us, we will always answer as fully as we can. I do not pretend that every measurement is exact, the statements I have made here are our opinions, and are about the way we see this house. We have been very happy here and have loved every minute.

Our family have moved on now, and we feel we want something smaller, but we will be very sad to leave, especially our simply breathtaking views, and our garden that has been televised for HTV, we have the program on tape!! and has been in the National Garden Scheme for many years.

It would be possible here should you so wish, to have a thriving B and B business, and/ or holiday letting, or even a small garden centre,  the scope is endless for those wishing to make the property pay for itself. It already has business planning for the Sheepskin business we run in the outbuildings, that business is for sale or not, it is up to the buyer, we are quite happy to take it with us and continue, should it not be required as part of the purchase.

The house with its attached cottage is on the outskirts of the village of Barton St David in Somerset, It sits sideways on to the road, as do many in the area, which is great for those who like their privacy. A driveway runs along the north side of the property to a large gravel parking area. The main garden is to the front and the sides of the property. In all there is about 1 acre, plus the house and garden of the additional  3 bedroom cottage attached. In brief altogether it would be 9 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 4 receptions and 2 kitchens, if all rooms were taken together.

This photograph was taken in the winter so the vines and the clematis around the cottage cannot be seen, but it shows the stunning views.

This picture shows some of the house and the barn conversion (on the right hand side). The attached cottage is out of view, on the left of this picture.  the Barn conversion attached to the original cottage was completed in 2000 and built to standards of building regulations and faced with the original stone, so it has double thickness walls, and original flagstone floors.
